STR - Love Anthem for World Peace - Single Review

A couple of days back, when sources close to Simbu expressed that Simbu is taking 'a step, a stride, an attempt towards peace and harmony', they kept fans wondering over what it is.

Well the news is that, Silambarasan aka STR has gone global! Even while the young talent is basking on the box-office success of 'Osthi', he has joined hands with Akon and Rihanna to promote world peace this 2012!

Simbu tweeted last week - "According to few people the world is gonna end in 2012. Yes, may be it'll end, coz of the drought of love. Split up by the barriers called languages, we fail to conversate love. Thus a step, a scream, a stride in breaking the barriers, a stride uniting 96 languages and millions of people to build an unbreakable bond. For world peace a small contribution from an Indian... Coming soon - a love anthem for the world! Love, STR. "

This song has lyrics from nearly 96 languages around the globe and Simbu left to the US on December 24 to record the track with Akon and Rihanna!

The 2 minute teaser of the song was launched by SONY Music, yesterday. It was launched on YouTube.

The song has brilliant lyrics by Simbu. And the tune, is just mind-blowing! What a song! And just cant believe its a teaser! If the teaser itself is so good, imagining the real version really puts our expectation bars on a high! The song lasts for just 2 minutes and says in its finish... "This is not the end, but the beginning".
This also takes expectations to mammoth levels!!!
Only this much for now. Watch this space for more on STR and his creation.

Agneepath Music Review

Agneepath, the much awaited album of the remake of the 1990 cult-classic of the same name has arrived. The music has been composed by Marathi stalwart brothers Ajay and Atul Gogavale. The arrival was marked with a teaser of Chikni Chameli, the Hindi version of Ajay-Atuls own Marathi song Kombdi Palali. The song was an instant rage on the internet for the dance of Katrina and the quirky tune with fast beats. Will the album live upto the expectations of many? Continue reading to know...

1. Chikni Chameli
This is a remake of the Marathi song of the same name by Ajay-Atul. The song is entertaining, with foot-tapping notes but it does not have the flavour of the original. It is lacking the magic that the Marathi version had. But yet, it is a it and there is no denying it. It has reached and appealed well to the fans.

2. O Saiyyan
A soulful melody, that is worth of a second-play when you hear it for the first time. The tune will go down well with the audience. Very good composing from Ajay-Atul.

3. Gun Gun Guna
This song is very catchy, brilliant tune. The peppy-folk mix works really well with this song! Will not be surprised to see the song being played in festive occassions. It suits many celebrations and is the pick of the album.

4. Shah Ka Rutba
This is a good song. Not much to talk about, the tune is not as catchy, but maybe the song will get more appeal with visuals.

5. Abhi Mujh Mein Kahin
Soothing to the ears, but such songs are also heard very often. The songs of this genre are very vulnerable to the likes of the fans. Very few people notice such compositions. So this time the composers are not successful.

6. Deva Shree Ganesha
Maharashtrian dhol hits get very popular because of their very fast beats and brilliant pace. The same is evident with this song. The dhol works better than the tune. This song is the perfect song to rip off your music systems and speakers at any given time!!

FINAL VERDICT: A decent album with three brilliant songs, Ajay-Atul have played safe this time after their Singham debacle. Chikni Chameli, Gun Gun Guna and Deva Shree Ganesha are the good ones from Agneepath. The rest of the album is normal Bollywood fare. So go ahead with this album, will surely not disappoint you.

"3" Music Review

"3", the much anticipated "Kolaveri" album by debutant Anirudh has released amidst much fanfare and expectations! Infact after Kolaveri, the expectation bars have rised to unimaginable heights! Has the young man along with our hero, Dhanush achieved it? Lets find out...

1. Why This Kolaveri Di?
Every household in India knows this song. The lyrics, the tune, the beats, the antics... Every aspect that can make a song a hit, is working with this song! The second soup-song from Dhanush after "Kaadhal En Kaadhal" from Mayakkam Enna is as catchy and outstanding as the first! Seems to be the best in the album, but will there be any more surprises? Read on to know..!!

2. Idhazhin Oram - The Innocence of Love
With lyrics from Aishwarya Dhanush, and voices from Ajeesh of Super Singer and Idhu Varai fame, Anirudh has simply struck gold with this song. The main tune of the song is really good and will be heard for a very long time on radios and channels!

3. Kannazhaga - The Kiss of Love
Easily the best melody of this album. Shruti Hassan and Dhanush have sung this mind-blowing song with such ease and expertise that professional singers would feel ashamed! Dhanush is simply superb! The song is the cream of the crop in this album. Success is written all over it!! I can keep writing good about this song, but have to carry on.

4. Come On Girls - The Celebration of Love
The lyrics of this song have to be given second spot in this album after Kolaveri. Brilliant but meaningful lyrics by Dhanush! He is proving himself to be an expert in lyric-writing after every song! The la la la la tune is a winner! Another wonder from Anirudh!!

5. Nee Partha Vizhigal
Soulful melody after quite a long time. Loved the song and the song will be famous for ages to come. Lyrics have soul too.. way to go Dhanush!

6. A Life Full of Love - Theme Music
This theme is very beautiful and moving. One of the more apt themes for a love story.

7. The Rhythm of Love - Theme Musics
A fast-paced and racy tune indeed that never fades in its runtime. It is a sure winner! One can also use this as a ringtone. Will get more appeal with visuals.

8. Po Nee Po - The Pain of Love
Wow! What a song! Seriously the USP of the entire album along with Kolaveri. The tune blends very well with the lyrics. The anguish and pain the character feels has been portrayed so well that visually replicating it would quite tough for director Aishwarya Dhanush. Mohit Chauhan deserves applause for churning out Tamil and he is successful in doing so. Anirudh has another winner in his hand.

9. Theme of 3
A brilliant, catchy tune and ringtone material too. Anirudh has worked magic with this theme that is the best of themes in recent times!!

10. Po Nee Po REMIX - The Scream of Love
This remix works very well for the fact that it stands out from the original in a unique way. Infact it seems better than the original at some places! A special mention of Airtel Super Singer 3 fame Satyaprakash who has sung parts int this song. He will go many places for sure as he is getting lot of acclaim and has been signed on for big projects. In the end, a perfect remix song from Anirudh. This song will blast speakers for years to come!!

FINAL VERDICT: Mesmerizing. Outstanding. Speechless. Literally! Is this his debut film? Unbelievable! Anirudh's debut soundtrack album never loses steam anywhere. It is classy right from start to end. A winner is what we have when Dhanush joins Anirudh!

Nanban Music Review

Its out! Finally! And the album of the most anticipated Tamil movie of 2012 has created a huge round of buzz around the internet and elsewhere. Harris Jayaraj is striking gold with every album he creates! To add to it, Shankar is the director of the film. We all know his grandeur that he presents for songs in every film of his - the latest being Endhiran. Let us see what the album has to offer!

1. En Frienda Pola
The album does kick-start on a brilliant note with this song. Though it may sound familiar, the lyrics by Vivega and the catchy tune from Harris seals right at the beginning. The songs begins with beautiful whistles and lets us literally travel through 3:57mins enjoying every second! A winner at any time!!

2. Heartilay Battery
The Tamil version of "All is Well" does strike a chord, and in what way! This is a very good song, not as good as compared to the original, but unique in its own way. The funny sounds in the background will be loved and laughed off by one and all! Na. Muthukumar's lyrics make this song even better than what it would have been. Overall, the perfect song to blast your speakers!!

3. Asku Laska
Madhan Karky is proving to be the perfect heir to Kavignar Vairamuthu! The lyrics of this song are not in 1, but 16 languages! They gel perfectly with Harris's mind-blowing music! Overall, this song is the pick of the album!!

4. Endhan Kann Munnae
A good melodious song that deserves applause. Even though it is reminiscent of Harris's previous works, it does work. This song wont be a chartbuster for sure, but at the same time will stay afresh in many people's minds. Maybe the song will get more appeal with Shankar's visuals.

5. Irukaanaa
Another sure-shot hit song of the album. A soundtrack from any Shankar's films would be incomplete with a song like this. This song will have magnificent sets and will surely be a treat to the eyes. Harris has gone about very well with this song - the pace, the beats and music. It is amongst the cream of the crop in Shankar's recent films!!

6. Nalla Nanban
Nothing much to say for this song. A perfect classical song to calm you down and soothe your ears. Recommended for all classical-melody lovers!!

FINAL VERDICT: A mass-entertainer right from the beginning to the end. This album has success written all over it!!! Harris continues his winning streak after 7aum Arivu in the same fasion. On the whole, a perfect album which will appeal to all masses and people of all ages!
